An operator-turned-founder-turned-VC, Markus brings 15 years of experience scaling and advising tech startups from zero employees to thousands. He has invested in 50+ companies, often as their first institutional investor, pre-revenue, pre-product, or even pre-incorporation. Some of the incredible teams Markus works with are GoStudent, Prewave, Refurbed, Upvest, Shapr3D, Opal, and Sona.
Driven by a passion for supporting ambitious founders that digitize traditional industries, Markus focuses on B2B software applications that power transformative economic shifts.
Before joining Speedinvest, Markus founded and led a venture-backed logistics startup. Today, he leverages his builder’s mindset and operational experience to oversee Speedinvest’s flagship funds, where he plays a crucial role in strategic decisions and initiatives that lay the foundation for the firm’s growth and success.
Beyond work, he’s an avid outdoorsman who loves hiking the Alps in summer and skiing its peaks in winter. He also lectures at Vienna Technical University, advises government institutions and NPOs, and co-founded an initiative to promote diversity in leadership teams.
